The Keystone Radio Control Club (KRC)
is a chartered club of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) based in
Franconia, Pennsylvania. whose purpose is to promote the safe building and
operation of radio controlled model aircraft and to aid in the advancement
of the hobby.
The Club Membership meets
regularly at 7:30pm on the second Thursday of each month at the Franconia Township Building
on Allentown Road in Franconia, PA. Between the months of May and September
the meetings start at 8:00pm to allow for some flying beforehand.
Guests wishing to learn more about the Club and membership are always
welcome to attend any Club Membership Meetings.
The Club maintains a flying site at Mascaro
Field, on the south side of Forman Road in Franconia Township. The
site feature ample parking, a well maintained 700' x 100' turf runway, six
protected pilot stations, a covered picnic area, and portable restroom
facilities. Model flying takes place throughout the year when weather
conditions permit. ON any nice weekend day, members can usually be
found flying a variety of aircraft, from trainers to advanced giant scale
aerobats. Members are also often present at the field on summer
weeknights and on many weekdays. During the prime flying season
between May and September the Club hosts a monthly Fun Fly for its
membership that features food, fun and a little competition. Anyone
wishing to watch the fun is invited to stop by anytime Club members are
present.
The Club is governed by a Constitution, Field and Membership rules that are enforced by the membership and a Board of Officers. Officers are nominated and elected on an annual basis by the membership for a term of 1 year. Board positions include:

The Board meets on a monthly basis to discuss outstanding business and the state of the Club. Members are also welcome to attend these meetings if they desire.
Field Information
Our field is located in rural Hatfield, Pennsylvania. It is a 100' x 700' flat grass field surrounded by either corn or plowed dirt depending on the season. The club has built a shelter to protect us from the sun when we are not flying. The photo below was composed by member Kevin Kimmel from several digital photos taken from his camera equipped Slow Poke 40. If you look closely you can even see the pilot!
